Friday's news

This isn't really going to be a "feel good" post today. I'm sorry. My heart is aching so bad. I cannot even explain all that there is to it. But here's the jist of the story.

My husband has worked for a school corporation for the past 8 years or so and we felt that he would probably be there ... forever ... until he retires. Well, in the past few months, the superintendent has been under some scrutiny over this and that, and well, let's just say, he made some bad decisions and has been there too long (according to lots of people) and is retiring by the end of the month. Ok, fine.

Mike was asked to be a part of the "hiring" process for the new super ... however, they had all of their meetings without him. Mike will work directly with (and under) this new super. Ok. Fine and dandy.

Well, they made the announcement this past Tuesday night at a board meeting of who the new super would be ... Mike met him and then yesterday morning, while the old super was out of the office, the new super came into Mike's office and asked him to "clean out his desk by July 1st" ... no other information. We have no clue if this means Mike is "fired" as of July 1st or what. We have no idea if he is just moving to another office or what. The school board has told Mike repeatedly that the new super would be foolish to let him go, but ... alas, the new super can do whatever he pleases, I guess.

My heart is just very, very heavy right now about all of this. I think Mike knows more than he told me last night too ... which scares me. Please pray for us right now during this difficult time.
