"Teen" News for Thursday (ha!)
Well, I just don't know if this Mom is ready for her daughter to be soooooooo "teen" oriented, now that she is 12 1/2. Let me explain a little bit:
For the past year (almost), Morgan has been able to go to the "teen" functions at church - because if you are going into 6th grade, you are welcome to attend the "teen" outings. Ok fine. Well, she LOVES it. She ABSOLUTELY LOVES it! I'm glad for that ............ however, I'm having such a problem with it in my own mind right now. ha!
Last night was another of those "rough" nights for me. Nothing major. If you know me at all, you know that I don't do a lot of things "spur of the moment", so all this teen stuff that is "spur of the moment" really gets on my nerves ... in a nice way. :)
Anyway, after church last night, the teens decided they wanted to have a cookout at one of the leader's houses ... and talked the leader into having it ... so, off they went. They said it would be over by about 10 p.m. or so and they would get her home. Ok, fine. So, at about 10:15 p.m., Morgan calls to tell me that things are running late and it'll probably be about another 30 minutes or so. Ok, fine. She then calls a little later to see if she can spend the night with a girl from church ... who is 16 or so ... sweet girl ... but ... another "spur of the moment" decision at 10:45 p.m. at night. Ugh!
Of course she could spend the night, so they came by to get her clothes and things for the night. It's just another of those evenings which proved to me once again that my little girl is growing up ... she's a good kid ... she has a good head on her shoulders ...

{{Hugs}} to Mom.. Yes, your little girl is growing up. They tend to do that much quicker then we want! I'm not so good with "spur of the moment" decisions either. We will get there.. we will get there!
