Well, well, well .........

No clue why this post didn't post yesterday when I wrote it, but here it is:

It has been a LONG week since I posted last ......... some good things have happened and some not so good things have happened .......... ha!Let's see, we had a great Memorial Day weekend this past weekend. I got a TON of stuff done on Saturday and felt great about that! Sunday was a full day with church in the morning, a wedding in the afternoon, and a run to the airport to pick up my dad from his missions trip (to Costa Rica) that evening. He had a blast, by the way, and didn't get hurt at all!

Monday, was the Memorial Day parade in the morning, lunch with Mike's parents and softball practice on Monday evening ...............That's when the "not so good" things started happening .................

During practice, while MIke was rounding third base, he heard something in his calf muscle POP a loud POP and as he finished running to home plate, he fell to the ground in pain. UGH! The consensus from our doctor and my sister, the PT specialist, is that he tore his gastrocnemius/solius muscle in his calf - which is up about half way from his Achilles tendon/ankle and half way between his ankle and his knee. UGH! He could not put any weight on it at all and was in a great deal of pain that evening! Needless to say, some guys helped him off the ball field and into my car to take him home ... and up our 14 steps to our bedroom and bathroom! UGH! Yesterday, the swelling was down a little bit, but still very sore to walk on - and on crutches. He will probably be on crutches for several weeks. He's hoping he will be able to put a little weight on it in a few weeks ... when we have VACATION PLANS TO MYRTLE BEACH ... and he and his dad are planning to play golf 3 of the mornings that week! GRRRR.We are going this afternoon for him to be fitted with something called a CAM walker - which enables the leg muscle to be immobilized a little better and not put much weight on it at all. Once he can stand a little weight, he can bear weight a little bit, but this walker/brace/cast will help with the weight disbursement. Ugh!

In the meantime, we went to the physiatrist/specialist yesterday morning for Morgan's back ... he doesn't know exactly what the problem is, thinks it could be a myriad of several things, but wanted to make sure so he sent us for an MRI last night at 8 p.m. UGH! We will know the results of the MRI (hopefully) on Monday when we go for our follow-up appointment. He gave her some new meds to take for the pain, and I hope they will work. Who knows?! She took one of them last night and said it gave her a headache, so who knows about that. We'll see.

Other than that, let me just say: I WAS NOT CUT OUT TO BE A NURSE!!!!! Good thing I'm in the legal profession!!!!
