36 hours and counting .............

Ok, 36 hours from now (or a little less), the sale will be over .......... and if I don't kill my mother before tomorrow, we'll all be good! ha! Let me just give you a little recap of last night's scenario!

I got off work at 5 p.m. and met mom and 3 other ladies at my grandma's house for a little "pre-sale" shopping. Ok fine. Sounds good, huh?! Well, 2 of the ladies were real interested in fabric, so they were in the "fabric" room with mom. All this time, she KNOWS that she is just gonna "guestimate" the yardage of fabric because there is absolutely NO WAY she can truly "measure" the fabric as people buy it. Guestimating is fine! $1.00/yard is a great bargain anyway! (After all, this is NOT Joann Fabrics! It is an estate household sale!)

We "played" the guestimating game here awhile back and she did fine. I'd hand her a piece of fabric and she would guestimate how much was there. (We did measure some of the pieces and she was pretty "on track" with the amounts.) Ok great.

Well, she caved under pressure last night. With only 2 or 3 ladies in there asking for fabric, she was MEASURING each piece! HELLO!? YOU CANNOT DO THAT ON SATURDAY, I told her. She said she knew, BUT ........ she was still measuring! GRRRRRR. She will NOT be able to do that tomorrow when there might be 10-12 ladies in there all wanting fabric! GRRRRRR.

So, I took care of the other sale stuff and was pretty ok with things. However, our cash register is gonna have to be moved - that was the thought in my head. I need to be at a place that I can see the Avon stuff and be on the cash register (and not be in people's way) ... since I'm the only one who wants to do the register and the only one who knows about the Avon stuff. GRRRRR. That COULD be a slight problemo!

Ok, so all the ladies leave by about 6:20 p.m. .... my mom is freaking out by this point! She just KNOWS there is NO WAY she can measure the fabric tomorrow at the sale (duh!), but she also doesn't want to "cheat" them out of this or that yardage. HELLO!? It's a rummage sale!!!! Again, I remind her, this is NOT JoAnn Fabrics store!!! $1.00/yard is a good deal, no matter what! So, anyway ......... and to top it all off, she still hasn't gotten all the jewelry separated in the boxes (i.e. necklaces in one box, rings in one box, etc.) like she SAID she was gonna do yesterday during the day .......... so ..............

Before my 7 p.m. meeting across town, I tried to help calm her down, move a few things around, organize the jewelry, etc. We then left and I went to my meeting at 7 p.m. and she went home ..... so I thought. (*wink*)

I called her at 8:20 p.m. when the meeting was over and guess where she is?!?!?!? Back over at Granny's house! She was stressing about it all again!!!! So, I ran home to talk to Morgan and MIke for a FEW minutes ... help get Morgan packed and ready for her weekend trip to IWU (Indiana Wesleyan University, which she leaves this afternoon at 4:45 p.m.) and then went BACK over to Granny's ........... to TRY to de-stress mother dear!

So, we spent the next 2 hours (yes, 2 hours) separating jewelry, moving the cash register and a table full of nic-nacs to another table, trying to figure out what she can do with the fabric so she won't be so stressed ... etc. I left at 11:15 p.m. .... totally exhausted!!!!

She has already called me 4 times this morning ....... and she is back over at Granny's working on fabric ... measuring ... crying ... whatever she is doing! I can't stand it! I texted my sister this morning and told her -- YOUR MOTHER IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!! She wrote back and said - WE SHOULD DRUG HER! I said -- Yes, STARTING TONIGHT!!!! LOL

Ok, so I know we WILL make it through this sale tomorrow .... but ... if, at any point during your day you think about me, please say a quick little prayer that everything is going OK and we are not all too stressed. Mom being stressed stresses me out. Allison NOT being stressed, stresses me out! So ... ugh! I'm a little stressed at the moment!

Happy Friday!
