Flood of emotion ..........
So, mom and I went to the nursing home last night after work to deliver some "Avon" to all the girls who helped with Granny during her stay. We had boxed up some Skin So Soft lotion, hand cream, moisturizer, chapsticks, make-up bags, etc. You name it, we boxed it up for all of them.
We went out there a few minutes before shift change, cause we wanted to "catch" all the girls that we could from Granny's stay there. (We really became friends with several of them!) Anyway ... most all of the girls that we "loved" were there on duty last night, so it was nice.
However, let me tell you ... when we first got off the elevator on the third floor and turned the corner, a flood of emotions came over us ... something we weren't really expecting to happen. Ugh! I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes ... but luckily it soon passed when we saw all the girls and they hugged us and told us they missed us.
It was nice ... but I'm glad we won't be seeing them anymore ... they were merely in our lives for a "season" to help us through that hard/difficult time with Granny. They were good to her ... and to us ... Thanks girls!
Then ... as if that's not enough emotion for one evening ... a friend of mine's grandmother died and we had to go to the funeral home/calling hours for that. This was the first funeral home/calling hours since Granny's funeral ... so in that respect, it was a little difficult, but to make things a little worse ... Karen's grandma (my friend) had the exact same casket as my grandma -- the quilt one! Can you believe that?! Eeeeeerie! It was a little strange seeing that ... not that her grandmother looked anything like my grandmother, but looking at that same casket, etc. was strange.

That was so sweet of you and your mom to take the girls all a little gift last night. And I am sure it was a bit difficult to walk those halls again knowing that Granny was gone. {{Hugs}} She is in a better place, smiling down on you now!
